09Policies

Quality, health, safety & environment

Our policies govern every project and every site we work on.

01Quality Policy

Imetimex Services Limited plans and executes mechanical and electrical projects to our clients' specifications, applicable standards and statutory requirements. We are committed to customer satisfaction and achieve our quality objectives by:

  • Continuously improving our quality management system.
  • Understanding the key success factors of every project and defining an efficient, practical method statement.
  • Planned, structured training and development for our people.
  • Maintaining the trust of all stakeholders — clients, shareholders, employees, subcontractors, regulators and host communities.
  • Managing facilities, processes, quality systems and personnel to deliver projects consistently, cost-effectively and to the customer's needs.
02Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Policy

We conduct all activities so that the health and safety of employees, subcontractors and the communities we work in are properly safeguarded, in line with our safety guidelines, client requirements and government regulations.

We believe safety and efficiency are inseparable: an efficient operation is a safe operation. All accidents are preventable — this principle is at the heart of our policy.

  • Every new employee completes a safety induction before working on any site.
  • Unsafe acts, near misses and lost-time incidents are reported promptly so root causes can be eliminated.
  • Subcontractors are required to work fully in line with this policy.
  • A safety committee chaired by the Managing Director monitors and improves HSE performance.
03Community Relations

We take seriously our obligation to improve the lives of those around us. To build mutually beneficial relationships with host communities we:

  • Recognise and engage the host community where our work takes place.
  • Maintain open and effective communication.
  • Follow client and government policies and laws on community affairs.
  • Promote dialogue in conflict resolution and problem solving.
04Alcohol, Drugs & Prohibited Items

Working under the influence of alcohol or drugs creates serious risks for the individual and colleagues. The possession, use or sale of alcohol, illegal drugs, controlled substances or firearms on company premises, vehicles or client sites is strictly prohibited.

We carry out pre-employment screening and periodic site audits. Employees on prescribed medication that may affect their alertness are given time to recover before returning to safety-critical duties. Violations may lead to dismissal and, where warranted, referral to the authorities.

05Safety Meetings, Training & Incentives

Regular safety meetings follow a set agenda covering accident prevention, training and lessons learned. Attendance is recorded and mandatory.

  • All new personnel attend safety orientation before deployment.
  • Our HSE officer conducts induction and refresher training.
  • Accident-free personnel are recognised annually, and a Safest Worker award is presented by the HSE committee.
06Emergency Preparedness & First Aid

Procedures are in place for accidents, fire and man-overboard situations on marine sites. Every worker knows the alarm signals, muster points and reporting lines. Accidents are reported immediately to the site supervisor and HSE officer, with a written report within 24 hours.

Trained first aiders are available on site, equipped to manage bleeding, burns, electrical shock (isolating supply first) and resuscitation pending medical attention.

07Permit to Work & Electrical Safety

Every job starts and ends with a permit. We operate cold-work, hot-work (welding, grinding) and confined-space entry permits.

  • Electrical work is carried out only on fully isolated systems by qualified personnel wearing the correct PPE.
  • Cables, plugs and fuses are inspected and correctly rated before use.
  • Tools and equipment are inspected before use; damaged items are removed from service.
08Lifting Operations, Equipment & Vehicles

Slings, hoists and lifting gear are certified by independent inspectors, marked with safe working loads and inspected at statutory intervals. Manual handling follows safe-lifting technique. Company vehicles are maintained regularly and carry seat belts, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and warning triangles.

09Health & Welfare

Our malaria awareness programme educates staff on prevention and early diagnosis. Good housekeeping keeps work areas free of debris, oil and obstructions, and hazardous substances are handled with the correct PPE and control measures.
